The Prince's Countryside Fund was established to help rural areas in the United Kingdom to become more sustainable. The main areas of focus for the Fund are to help projects to improve the sustainability of British farming in areas of deprivation, to help projects to improve the sustainability of rural communities and to help projects to reconnect people with the countryside. The total amount of funding available in each round is approximately £250,000, with the maximum level of funding for an individual project being £50,000. The programme reopens for applications on 12 March and the deadline for receipt of applications will be Friday, 13 April 2012.
