Help us find a Countryside Centre!

Do you have, or know anyone who has a redundant agricultural building in a rural location in the AONB?  Or a brown field site that might be suitable?

The ideal location for the centre would be ½ mile or so of one the main roads that cross the AONB and preferably on or near a bus route. The A30 is the most central main road but all locations would be considered. (see map)

We would be looking for a 20-25 year lease.

The AONB Partnership are currently looking into the feasibility of creating a multipurpose ‘Countryside Centre’ that would provide vocational training courses, special interest courses, environmental education, volunteering opportunities and a range of visitor opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside.

Funding would also be sought to build and manage a volunteer force, provide training opportunities and encourage understanding and enjoyment of the landscape, archaeology, heritage, wildlife and culture of the area.

If you can help, we'd love to hear from you, please email Linda Nunn, AONB Director at lindanunn@cranbornechase.org.uk
