The
Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, has announced
in the Budget 2015 that the Government will provide a further £40
million to the Listed Places of
Worship – Roof Repair Fund to support vital roof repairs in 2015 to
2017.
The
announcement in this week's budget follows the £15 million announced for the
Roof Repair Fund in the 2014 Autumn Statement [see Update
291] and £20 million for the First World War Centenary Cathedral
Repair Fund announced in the 2014 Budget. The Listed places of
Worship: Roof Repair Fund is designed for urgent repairs to public
places of worship of all faiths across the UK that are formally designated as
