Trustees needed for an exciting new environmental charity

This is an interesting opportunity to help set up and run a new charity focused on the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).  The charity will help:

• Conserve and enhance the landscape of the AONB
• Ensure that traditional rural trades and crafts such as woodland coppicing, charcoal making  and hedge laying are kept alive
• Offer young people opportunities to gains practical countryside skills and enhance their job opportunities
• Encourage and enable people of all abilities to get out and explore the countryside, towns and villages of the area 
• Provide opportunities for all ages to learn about the wonderful landscape, wildlife, history, archaeology and culture of the area
• Foster the creative interpretation of the area using the amazing creative talent that exists 
• Promote the area as a green tourism destination for those who might want to come to walk, ride or cycle or learn about the area
• Offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities

Skills that we are looking for: We would be really interested in hearing from you if you have skills or experience in any of the following areas: fundraising/bid writing, project management, marketing/promotion, HR, finance/book keeping or business acumen.

Time commitment: It is envisaged that once the charity has been set up it will meet approximately 6 times a year though some of these may be ‘virtual’ meetings by Skype or telephone.

Expenses: Reasonable expenses for travel to meetings may be able to be claimed
